The story quickly goes off the deep end from there in some unexpected and twisted ways. That's all I'll say about Saint Maud, and that's all you should know when you see it. The movie does some incredible things, both visually and thematically, that make it one of the most powerful character studies in recent cinema (horror or otherwise). Also, since it is confined within the walls of a mortuary and spans over a period of eight hours, this murder mystery tends to lose its grip over the audience early on. Despite the decent background score – an absolute must for a thriller to work – the film fails to keep you on the edge, and ends up being yet another run-of-the-mill, half-baked attempt at concocting a story revolving around love, death and betrayal. Rishi Kapoor, as the stubble-sporting cop with a devil-may-care attitude, is quite convincing as a character with a troubled past trying to get to the bottom of this distorted love story. Emraan Hashmi, as a romantic partner with questionable morals, exudes charm in parts and evokes pity (as and when needed). Sobhita Dhulipala, as a rich-yet-lonely millionaire, with a twisted psyche exhibiting cold-hearted behaviour, is not so convincing in the sense that she ends up being too good to be bad. Debutante Vedhika Kumar, as the naive and gullible partner in crime, has a good screen presence but feels like a misfit, especially in the second half. Just like all other Emraan Hashmi films, the music of this movie – mostly love ballads – does not disappoint and the catchy numbers are soothing to the ears. In a nutshell, 'The Body' is low on content and high on glamour. There is not much to unravel in this one.

Her widower, Álex Ulloa, hears the shocking news while with his young mistress, Carla Miller. Álex assures Carla that Mayka is dead. At the morgue, Álex tells the coroner about Mayka's medical history. Peña is convinced someone stole the body to avoid an autopsy, and is suspicious of Álex, who Peña feels too easily speaks of his wife in the past tense. Peña notes his own wife, Ruth, died 10 years ago in a car accident, and he finds he still speaks of her in the present tense. Álex hears a loud noise and discovers a busted locker. Inside, he finds a small bottle labeled TH–16, and thinks back earlier in the day, when he puts drops from the same bottle into Mayka's wine. Peña finds him and informs him that Mayka's cell phone is missing. He finds the bottle on Álex, who admits it is a toxin manufactured by Mayka's pharmaceutical company, but he claims he found it on the floor and doesn't know what it does. More and more events occur at the morgue that seem to be taunting Álex and Carla, convincing Álex that Mayka is still alive and seeking revenge for his affair and murder plot. Álex discovers Mayka hired a private investigator, as she suspected his affair, and had also heard him plotting to kill her. Álex confesses everything to Peña, first telling him he did love Mayka, having met her by chance in Avalon, California. He also met Carla by chance but fell in love with her, and confided in her his darkest secrets. He said that he thinks Mayka only pretended to drink the wine laced with TC–16, which causes a heart attack after eight hours and leaves no trace in the blood, but that she instead took a tranquilizer that made her appear dead. The police discover incriminating evidence at Álex and Mayka's house, including a map of the morgue. Ángel wakes up from his coma and reveals that after hearing a noise, he saw Mayka's body in the elevator before a figure in a balaclava fired a gun at him, sending him running into the street. Álex insists Mayka is alive and has the means to disappear and that Carla is in danger. Peña informs him they have no evidence Carla Miller exists and that the address he gave for Carla's apartment has been empty for years. W efekcie nasze starania mogą pozostać niezauważone, zignorowane, a nawet wyśmiane. Nie trudno przecież o opinię, że człowiek uprzejmy, ustępujący i uczciwy to po prostu frajer. Jeszcze gorzej jest w relacjach damsko-męskich. W tym wypadku nasze starania mogą być nawet zauważone, ale potraktowane jako oczywistość. W końcu zdarzają się kobiety, które uważają, że należy im się szczególne traktowanie i nie trzeba się w odpłacać równie miłymi gestami. Bywają mężczyźni, którzy wpadają na tę myśl i dochodzą do wniosku, że gentleman to taki służący kobiet. W powyższych przypadkach pojawia się pytanie: co będziemy mieli z przestrzegania dobrych manier, jeśli się na to zdecydujemy? A nawet stawia się warunek: będę miły tylko dla tych, którzy są mili dla mnie. Transakcje uprzejmości Nie da się zaprzeczyć, że negatywny odbiór uprzejmych gestów czasem się zdarza. Co więcej tak było w przeszłości i będzie w przyszłości. Jednak czy to powinno wpływać na nasze zachowanie? Czego bowiem można oczekiwać w zamian za grzeczność? Najczęstszą odpowiedzią będzie pewnie: „tego samego”. Czyli jeśli wyświadczymy komuś przysługę, ta osoba powinna wyświadczyć nam podobną. Jeśli traktujemy kogoś szczególnie, ta osoba powinna traktować również nas w ten sposób. Kiedy wystąpimy w czyjejś obronie, ten ktoś powinien nam odpłacić tym samym w przyszłości. Czyż nie tak? Nie do końca. Problem polega na tym, że uprzejmość to nie transakcja wiązana. Zresztą gdyby nią była, byłaby kuriozalna. W końcu zazwyczaj ludzie nie proszą o ustępowanie im miejsca, przepuszczanie przez drzwi czy zwykłe miłe przywitanie. W efekcie wyświadczając komuś uprzejmość zobowiązywalibyśmy daną osobę bez jej woli do odpłacania nam tym samym. Poza tym bycie miłym dla nieznajomych straciłoby sens. Z czym miałoby się wiązać przepuszczenie jakiejś przypadkowej kobiety w drzwiach sklepu? Z tym, że przy następnym spotkaniu miałaby nam się odpłacić podobną uprzejmością, czy tym, że kobiety generalnie byłyby milsze dla mężczyzn? Tu musielibyśmy założyć powszechność tych zachowań, a przecież powszechne one nie są. Idąc tym tropem, czy powinniśmy zatem być mili tylko dla osób lepiej nam znanych i ignorować obcych? Przecież tylko znajomi mają realną szansę na odwzajemnienie uprzejmości. Choć to rozwiązanie niektórym wyda się racjonalne, jest ono nadal próbą wprowadzenia jednostronnych transakcji wiązanych. <> Walka o przetrwanie Kiedy ktoś zastanawia się co może zyskać dzięki uprzejmości wobec konkretnych osób nie dojrzał jeszcze do miana gentlemana. Podłym byłaby nawet próba obsypania szarmanckimi gestami kobietę, by ją zobowiązać w ten sposób do szczególnego potraktowania adoratora. When an iridescent meteorite plummets from outer space and into the property and foundations of a remote New England estate, a malignant force begins to insidiously permeate the lives of an unassuming family. The patriarch of this doomed brood is none other than Nicolas Cage, continuing his recent renaissance as a midnight-movie staple with an increasingly unhinged performance that reliably ricochets among every technique in the Stanislavski playbook. The rest of the ensemble, which includes Joely Richardson and Tommy Chong, play effective foils to Cage's delirium, but the real star of the show is the alien entity itself. Richard Stanley is back with his best movie, it's an interesting mix between Lovecraft and nicolas cage, it gives you cosmic horror mixed with crazy and funny performance by Cage so if you are a Lovecraft fan who doesn't like Nic Cage going crazy this movie isn't for you. while the screenplay and the supporting cast weren't good enough the astonishing cinematography and amazing soundtrack makes this movie worth watching on the big screen.

She's an aspiring witch spied by the movie's narrator, visiting hydrologist Ward Phillips (Elliot Knight), as she's performing a ritual in the woods. Lavinia's goal is to magically dispel the cancer attacking her mother, Theresa (Joely Richardson), who supports the family by doing high finance up in the attic of the family's old, recently inherited farmhouse. Director and co-scripter Richard Stanley may have afflicted her with that ailment in homage to Lovecraft himself, who died of intestinal cancer at 46. Or it may just be a way of connecting the movie's body-horror absurdities to a fleshly menace audiences can take seriously. Another new motif that would baffle Lovecraft is the use of recreational drugs. Lavinia's older brother Benny (Brendan Meyer) is a pothead, and the girl supposes that her dad's volatile personality stems from "too much acid. " The family's nearest neighbor is Ezra, a burned-out but tech-savvy hippie played by no less a doper icon than Tommy Chong. No one should be surprised that the movie's climax proves as trippy as it is bloody. As in the story, things begin to go wrong when a meteorite strikes the Gardner property in a misty barren in what's supposed to be Massachusetts (impersonated by Portugal for budgetary reasons). The projectile is more bad mojo than weird science, poisoning the well water and destroying crops, animals, and finally the family, whose minds are trashed along with their bodies. Ecological threats and political corruption are among the other perils dumped into the grab bag of a script, along with such playful references as a copy of Lovecraft's fictitious Necronomicon. (It belongs to Lavinia, even though she's a good witch and it's a bad, bad book). Despite all the peril, the film musters little urgency. It dawdles its way to a the final freakout, fueled by Colin Stetson's increasingly amok score. Lovecraft was no progressive on racial and ethnic issues, so it's a nice touch that Ward is African American. The role he plays, however, is an unworkable combo of spectator and participant. In the original, the narrator arrives years after the events have occurred, and struggles to piece it all together. His investigation leaves questions and doubts, allowing readers to complete the story in their heads and decide for themselves what they believe. Color Out of Space takes a more explicit, less artful course: It turns ominous possibilities into a gory mess that proves utterly unbelievable.

On the third day of filming “ Color Out of Space, ” his first narrative feature in over two decades, Richard Stanley finally let himself believe he was making another movie. “My initial sense of incredulity wore off, ” said the South African director. Best known for his cult 1990 cyberpunk debut, “Hardware, ” Stanley returns to the director’s chair with the H. P. Lovecraft tale starring Nicolas Cage as a man whose family is transformed when a mysterious meteorite lands in its yard. Three days were also about how long it took for him to be fired from the set of 1996’s “ The Island of Dr. Moreau. ” The famously disastrous Marlon Brando-Val Kilmer picture was once set to be his Hollywood studio breakthrough but instead brought his career to a grinding halt. That experience left him, understandably, shaken. He wouldn’t direct another narrative feature for more than 20 years. So it was reassuring for him to discover that being back on set with “Color Out of Space, ” which is now playing in limited release, brought his instincts back into focus. I also realized I had some director software in my head that was telling me the shot lists and where to put the camera, ” he said with a smile. “It wasn’t even just coming back. It was there. ” Stanley’s striking style and metaphysical interests find a well-suited avatar in Cage, unleashed in “Color Out of Space” to wax manic while milking alpacas and excavating layers of patriarchal toxicity in his character, a loving husband and father gone unhinged. “When you first meet him, ” Cage says of Stanley, “he can look like a bit of a sorcerer: You don’t know what you’re going to get, in a wonderful way, but he can have that intensity. ” He’s “a genuine original. ” They met “a million years ago” to discuss Stanley’s second film, the 1992 horror movie “Dust Devil. ” Cage remembered the director’s distinctive vision when he was wooed to Stanley’s long-gestating passion project by the genre producers at SpectreVision, to whom Cage had expressed his interest in the works of Lovecraft. “I could see he had a powerful connection with his mom. I had a powerful connection with my father. So Richard and I had a lot to talk about together and felt the connection of a kindred spirit, ” Cage said. “We could speak the same language. ” The absence of Stanley, now 53, from behind the camera was one of the longstanding curiosities of the genre film world. Tall, with a goatee and his trademark wide-brimmed hat worn over long dark hair, the director has relocated to a remote village called Montségur, in the French Pyrenees mountains, near a historic castle whose violent and mystical roots have held his fascination for years. Seven hundred years later, Nazi archaeologists came looking for the Holy Grail. Occultists and historians still find the region fascinating, but for Stanley in particular it opened a window he never expected. “It’s the only place in the world, ” he said, “that’s budged me from my atheism and my skepticism and forced me to accept that there’s more going on in the world than I can easily explain. ” Several of Stanley’s personal interests converged in “Color Out of Space, ” a passion project he’d been trying to get made for many years. The fruit becomes inedible and the Gardners begin losing their minds. Lavinia, a budding occultist, turns to her paperback “Necronomicon” for answers. A visiting hydrologist (Elliot Knight), the film’s audience stand-in, attempts to make sense of what’s happening, to no avail. The confluence of environmental disruption and psychological unraveling felt acutely topical to Stanley. “We’re all facing a situation where planet Earth and the future of mankind is starting to look more and more checkered. The world is clearly changing, and we’re not in control of that process, ” he said. “We can no longer be certain that the world will be the same world for our children as it is for us. I think that’s a very distressing thought. ” But one relationship in “Color Out of Space” spoke even more personally to the filmmaker. As the sinister “color, ” a rippling visual sentience achieved through VFX, makes Nathan increasingly irritable and unhinged, it also affects Theresa, who becomes distant and erratic. Their youngest, Jack, becomes the most vulnerable as the family drifts further into its spell. “I was a lonely, creepy kid who spent most of my time doing crayon drawings of monsters, ” Stanley said with a smile. In that childhood, he says, the fantastic was an escape and a way to deal with the discord in his parents’ relationship. Years later, “Color Out of Space” would serve a similar purpose. One of the things he was doing during his two-decade absence from filmmaking, he said, was taking care of his dying mother as she battled cancer. Their complicated relationship, and his feelings about that period of his life, were some of the personal insights he shared with his actors before filming. “Generally I find that it’s always good, just as when you’re acting, to be dealing from some moment of truth — from some personal truth — and to be as honest as possible, ” he said. “It’s the first one of my movies that she won’t be watching. I think she would have rather enjoyed it. ” From a filmmaking standpoint, he adds, working on “Color Out of Space” and, specifically, with Cage and his free-flowing creative energy was a healing creative experience. “Nic single-handedly restored my faith in the entire process and in Hollywood, ” Stanley said. The only other person who lives nearby is Ezra, a quirky off-the-grid hippie stuck in time. When a meteorite lands on the Gardners’ front lawn, no one can make heads or tails of it. A thunderstorm hits the next night and the lightning seems drawn to the meteorite, striking it over and over. Meanwhile, Ward discovers strange anomalies in the water supply. While the meteorite itself shrinks until it completely disappears, the fallout is just starting, and it will infect every living thing on the Gardners’ land. Nothing and no one is safe. The combination of H. P. Lovecraft, Richard Stanley, and Nicolas Cage is a match made in genre film heaven; all three are all-star Hall of Famers in their own right. Stanley hews pretty closely to the essential elements of Lovecraft’s story, while simultaneously modernizing and putting his own distinct twists on it. The film is beautifully shot and spectacularly complemented by the special effects, and when the shit really starts to hit the fan, the sound design combines to create a truly otherworldly and unsettling experience. A news crew arrives to interview Nathan about the meteor, but it has mysteriously vanished and Nathan comes off looking like a drunken fool. Later, while Theresa is preparing dinner, she absentmindedly cuts off two of her fingers. While Nathan rushes her to the hospital, he leaves Benny in charge, but things quickly get out of hand as Benny finds the alpacas uncontrollable, Sam runs away and Jack is traumatized by something he saw in the well. Nathan excoriates Benny and Lavinia, lashing out with uncharacteristic rage. He tries to take a shower but is interrupted when a squid-like creature emerges from the drain. The next day, after Nathan tries to harvest his tomatoes - which have all turned out misshapen and inedible - he and Theresa get into a fight when the internet goes out again and she loses a client. The next night, Theresa hears Jack screaming in the barn and rushes to his aid. To their horror, something awful has happened to Sam and the alpacas, and they try to flee the barn only to be struck by several bolts of Color lightning which fuses mother and child together into a single, deranged mass. Unable to start the car or call for help as all electronic devices have started malfunctioning, Nathan and the other children carry the monster into the attic where they struggle to decide what to do about the miserable, gibbering thing. Nathan, enraged at what the Color has done to his family, gets a shotgun and enters the barn, where he finds Sam and all of his alpacas fused together, and he destroys the resulting creature. He returns to the attic, orders his children to leave, and prepares to put down his mutated wife and son, but he cannot go through with it. Lavinia tries to perform a Wiccan ceremony to save her family, mutilating herself in the process. She and Benny conspire to run away from the farm, but as they are preparing to leave, Benny hears Sam whining down in the well and insists on going down after him. The Color bursts from the water and kills him, driving Lavinia insane. Losing his grip on sanity, Nathan locks Lavinia in the attic with the monster, which has now grown aggressive and attacks her. Ward and the sheriff arrive and break into the attic, and Nathan shoots the creature. As they exit the house, the Color erupts out of the well and drives Nathan insane. He tries to shoot the Color, but the sheriff mistakes Nathan's aim for Ward and shoots Nathan, who dies in Lavinia's arms. Lavinia declares she will not leave. Still intent on leaving, Ward and the sheriff go to pick up Ezra, but only find his dessicated corpse and a recording he left behind, where he surmises that the Color is attempting to remake Earth into "something it knows. " The corpse implodes, raining Color down everywhere, and a tree comes to life and kills the sheriff while Ward flees. Ward arrives and attempts to rescue Lavinia, but the Color explodes from the well and roars into the sky in a towering funnel. Lavinia touches him and shares with him her vision of where the Color hails from – a horrific sector of outer space inhabited by repulsive, tentacled alien entities similar to itself – and as he is traumatized, she dissolves into dust from her corruption. I say it is a training thing, I use to be a guy who only watched dubbed until i ended up at the end of the one piece dub and wanted to go on. Now I'm pretty good at watching sub to the point where I can mute it and tell u what's going on. And I'm ADHD, but I do get the need for watching dub and I'm a review standpoint the easier to critique. I watched Attack on Titan on Netflix with the sub and I did get attached in a way. But then I watched the Dub on YT and felt even more connected to the characters and caught more details than before. Now why isn't the Dub available on Netflix too.

Yoko was a member of the famous Anoa'i family of Samoans and held the WWF title twice in the early 90s. It's thought that he may have been the heaviest wrestler in the world at one point although that's difficult to prove. In late-96, he's believed to have weighed close to 800 pounds and he was definitely the heaviest in the history of WWF. Yokozuna was found by a tour bus driver in his hotel room when he didn't answer the door when he was supposed to be picked up for a show later that night. It's believed to have been a heart attack (turns out no, it was something to do with fluid in his lungs). He was said to be drinking heavily the night before and just a day earlier, it's known that he'd had a lengthy phone call with his cousin Rikishi. In recent years, Yokozuna hadn't wrestled in the U. S. because he couldn't get cleared by any state athletic commissions due to his size and the potential for heart problems. He was believed to weigh anywhere from 600-750 pounds and was practically immobile in the ring during his recent indie appearances. On Raw, they acknowledged his death with Vince McMahon calling him the greatest big man in the history of wrestling. On Nitro, the announcers mentioned him and basically gave him the same praise. WCW wasn't going to mention it since he never worked there, but Yoko was well-liked within the business and other wrestlers who knew him pressured them to give Yoko a shout out, so they did. Dave runs down Yokozuna's life and career, all his connections and relationships with the Anoa'i family, his early Great Kokina gimmick, wrestling in USWA, Mexico, NJPW, and the dying days of AWA before making his way to WWF in 1993. He had a successful run there but eventually got so large that WWF sent him to the Duke University weight loss program but he failed at that so they took him off the road completely and he never returned. He had talks about returning plenty of times over the last few years, including just in the last few weeks, but because he could never get his weight under control, it didn't happen. His final appearance in WWF was the 1996 Survivor Series in a throw-away 8-man elimination match in which he did almost literally nothing but stand there. At that point, for all intents and purposes, his career was over. He made a couple of indie appearances and his last major appearance was in the main event of the embarrassing Heroes of Wrestling PPV in 1999. WATCH: WWF's Yokozuna tribute video Negotiations for WWF to buy WCW are continuing this week and are going slower than expected. There's issues on both sides that neither seems willing to budge on, reportedly over what happens to WCW front office workers as well as who gets the PPV money that WCW is still owed (naturally, Turner and WWF both want that money). There were allegations that Vince McMahon and WCW head Brad Siegel got into an argument during the negotiations, but people close to the situation denied that to Dave. WWF lawyers have also denied the rumors that they have a right-of-first-refusal deal as part of the lawsuit settlement a few months back. The big hold up appears to be over existing WCW contracts, not just with wrestlers but in all facets of the business (licensing and merchandising contracts that WCW has with other companies, for example). It's also believed that there is some hold up with Viacom, which is now paying WWF $28 million per year for exclusive WWF programming. But if you recall, one of the things Turner isn't willing to budge on is that they still want WCW programming on their channels. So if WWF buys WCW, they would be producing shows for TBS and TNT, which are rival networks to the Viacom-owned channels that WWF is currently on. So there's all sorts of legal red tape that has to be sorted through if this deal is actually going to happen and it's said to not be as much of a sure thing as everyone thought it was last week (spoiler: that Viacom stuff is what ends up killing this whole deal). Bret Hart was officially fired by WCW this week. To say his 3 years in WCW was a disappointment would be the understatement of the century, Dave says. He came into WCW as arguably the hottest star in the business after the Screwjob and WCW pretty much fumbled him right from the start and never recovered. Throw in the death of his brother, several injuries, and countless heel/face turns, and it was just a bad 3 years, both personally and professionally for Hart. His contract ($2. 5 mil per year) was the second highest in the company behind Hulk Hogan and it wasn't a surprise that they released him. WCW is deep in debt and there's huge pressure to cut costs. Hart hasn't wrestled since January and it's unknown if he'll ever be able to again. Per Hart's contract, if he was unable to wrestle for more than 90 days, they had the right to terminate the deal and so they finally did. It's very likely Hart's in-ring career is over, as he's still not recovered from the concussions he suffered in December and January, which started with an errant Goldberg kick at Starrcade and were worsened in the weeks after, most notably during a hardcore match with Terry Funk. Hart has been noticeably bitter following what happened in Montreal and lashed out not only at WWF, but often at WCW and all the changes in the wrestling business that he didn't like. Hart's criticisms of WCW led to a lot of heat and resentment from higher-ups in the company, even though most of the wrestlers usually agreed with him. In the termination letter that Brad Siegel sent to Hart, he wrote, "At this point in time, we have been unable to utilize your wrestling services for over nine months and according to your doctor, you remain incapacitated. Based on your ongoing incapacity, WCW in exercising its right under paragraph 8 (e) to terminate your independent contractor agreement effective Friday, October 20, 2000. Your contributions to the wrestling business are highly regarded and we wish you only the best in the future. " Hart responded in his weekly Calgary Sun column, writing, "Yeah right, " and added that he'll be taking time to think over his options. Dave says those options are pretty limited. Even if he can wrestle again (which is doubtful), where? Dave says that even if Bret can't wrestle, there's obviously a big money angle waiting for him in WWF between him and McMahon, but there's so much hatred there that it's pretty clear neither side wants that. Most likely, Hart's short-term plan is to write a book about his life in the business. WWF's No Mercy PPV is in the books and was a good show, built around the in-ring return of Steve Austin. It also saw Kurt Angle become only the 2nd Olympic gold medalist to win a major pro wrestling world title (the first being Henri DeGlane who won the world title from Strangler Lewis back in 1931, y'all remember that? Oh man, good times... ). Dave says Angle has had one of the quickest rises to the top of any performer in history. Big Show won his first WCW title 6 months after his debut and Salman Hashimikov won the IWGP title only a month after his debut in 1989, but otherwise, that's it. Nobody has catapulted to the top the way Angle has. But of course, the big selling point of the show was Austin's return. Unfortunately, it wasn't much of a match and it left more questions than answers about Austin's health, since he didn't really take much in the way of bumps and mostly just brawled around with Rikishi for a bit before doing an angle to get arrested. The big focal point of the title match and whole show really was Stephanie McMahon and Dave basically compares her to a Von Erich daughter considering the way her father is building the company around her lately. Other notes from No Mercy: during the opening tables match, Grandmaster Sexay accidentally broke a table with his feet, which should have eliminated them from the match but the referee just ignored it while the crowd chanted "You fucked up! " Dave mentions that Victoria, who is one of the Godfather's hos, will be going to Memphis to train and will become a wrestler. They did an angle backstage to write the Acolytes off the show and their scheduled match didn't happen. It was done because Bradshaw recently suffered a broken rib and Faarooq needs knee surgery. They made a point of showing Steve Austin chugging a beer while driving his truck away from the ring, which Dave finds pretty classless from the company's top star who so many teenagers think is cool. Edge/Christian (as the Conquistadores) vs. the Hardyz was a bad match, which Dave didn't think was possible for these 2 teams to have together. Christian suffered a stinger when doing a dive to the outside and half his body went numb but he's expected to be okay (I remember on an episode of their podcast, Christian talked about this and said it was the scariest moment of his career). Triple H vs. Chris Benoit was a great match and would have been a near-classic if the crowd wasn't so dead for it. And the Rock/Angle match was even better, with Angle winning the title and getting a big face pop for it. WATCH: Kurt Angle wins the WWF Championship from The Rock We have another obituary, this one even longer than Yokozuna, for the death of Leo Nomellini, a part-time wrestler and NFL player who died this week. Nomellini wrestled during the off-season in the San Francisco territory in the 1950s and Dave goes into a ton of detail about this dude, I guess because this is the region where Dave grew up and he knows a lot about the local wrestling history in the area. As a football player, Nomellini was pretty great and was even inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The vacant IWGP title will be decided on the Jan. 4th Tokyo Dome show with an 8-man one-night tournament featuring Toshiaki Kawada, Shinya Hashimoto, Keiji Muto, Manabu Nakanishi, Kensuke Sasaki, Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Genichiro Tenryu. For name value and star-power, it's probably the biggest one-night tournament in Japanese wrestling history and it's notable that Kawada and Tenryu, who are AJPW stars, will be involved. Apparently, NJPW reached out to NOAH as well, hoping to get Misawa and Kobashi in the tournament, but Misawa turned it down. (Holy shit, can you imagine this tournament if they had somehow managed to get Misawa and Kobashi also? My god... ) Nitro did a near record-low rating this week while Raw did its best numbers on TNN so far. The first hour of Nitro was the 2nd lowest rated unopposed hour ever, while the second hour was the lowest rated second hour in the history of the show. Raw's numbers were up, but still not to where they were before the move to TNN, but its inching that way. Hiroshi Hase has avoided picking sides in the AJPW/NOAH split until now. This week he announced that he will work shows for AJPW in January. Hase is a member of the Japanese Diet (the equivalent of the U. Senate) and they will be on break in January, which will allow Hase the free time to wrestle again. So chalk up a much-needed win for AJPW on this one. Scott Hall apparently reached out to NJPW about working some shows, since WCW fired him and WWF doesn't want him (yeah, Hall ends up spending a good bit of 2001 in NJPW). XPW in California held a press conference to announce an Atsushi Onita vs. Sabu match taking place in December. Onita cut a promo saying Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman promised they'd do exploding ring matches with him but they backed out. Sabu then came out and it turned into a brawl between them. Onita and XPW promoter Rob Black then set an American flag on fire and tried to throw Sabu on it. Oh. Well then. Onita then went back to Japan and when he was interviewed by the media there, he challenged Terry Funk and Antonio Inoki, vowing to retire afterwards because he needs a knee replacement. Dave thinks Onita is trying to compete with Funk for how many times a guy can say he's retiring and then not do it. WATCH: XPW Atsushi Onita press conference Big Dick Dudley was involved in an accident when his motorcycle was hit by a truck and he reportedly spent 2 days in a coma. Shawn Michaels is scheduled to appear at a Memphis Championship Wrestling show next week. ECW's December PPV is already sold out, two months in advance. But it's only 2, 500 tickets at Hammerstein Ballroom, so it's not like that's a huge financial boon for the company or anything. Dan Severn was backstage at an ECW show recently, looking for work. Dave doesn't see it happening because for starters, Severn is all wrong for this company now. Back in the day, they tried to bring Severn in to get him to put over Taz when he was doing the shooter gimmick, but that didn't happen and nowadays, the style of the company has changed. Plus, ECW isn't in a position to be hiring anybody new right now. Other ECW notes: they had a house show in Battle Creek, MI which seems like a no-brainer to have RVD there, but he wasn't. They offered free tickets to the PPV in Chicago next month to anyone who wanted them to make up for RVD not being there. Paul Heyman was in attendance at both weekend house shows, which is the first time he's been at those shows in awhile. Joe C, the little guy who raps with Kid Rock, worked the MI show and was in the corner of Sandman and Whipwreck for their match. Notes from WCW Nitro: this continues to feel like a lame-duck company, with all the shows pretty much just in a holding pattern. Kevin Nash cut a promo talking about Scott Hall again and Dave is just flabbergasted. Hall was fired by WCW a couple of weeks ago, leading Dave to say "WCW is run by total chowderheads. " Dave says if this was WWF and someone got on a live mic on Raw and started shooting and going off-script by putting over a guy that Vince McMahon had just fired in real life, that guy would probably be joining him in the unemployment line as soon as he got backstage. But there's pretty much no discipline or rules in WCW. Nash has been talking about Scott Hall in his promos for months now, and it was never part of an angle. It was just Nash politicking on live TV for them to bring his fuck-up buddy back. In fact, online, Mark Madden wrote about how Scott Hall gets bigger pops than most of the roster, because Nash has been working his own angle to bring him back and the fans are all excited and hyped up for something that's not going to happen. Meanwhile, the entire rest of the roster doesn't get half the build-up that Nash has been giving Hall on his own. And Nash realizes that nobody in WCW has the balls to discipline him, so he just goes into business for himself. Oh, and just in case you didn't get the message the first time, Nash had another interview segment later in the show and he once again made it all about Scott Hall. In other news, Goldberg is supposed to be building back up his winning streak. On Nitro, they announced him as 12-0. On Thunder last week, he was 7-0. WCW hasn't had any shows in between, so somehow Goldberg added another phantom 5 wins to his record over the previous 4 days. But putting all that stuff aside, it was kind of a solid show, with some good matches and one of the better Nitro main events they've had in awhile. Also, this was the first of the new joint-tapings WCW is doing, so after Nitro, they taped Thunder for the same crowd. This is the plan going forward, so WCW will only be running 5 shows-per-month from now on (4 Nitro/Thunder tapings and 1 PPV, no house shows). One final note from Nitro: Scott Steiner came to the ring with a live tiger. In case you're wondering, no one knows why they did this. Just some idea somebody came up with so they went out and got a tiger on the spur of the moment. Because WCW. Backstage before the show, Rey Mysterio was trying to take a photo with it and the tiger nearly took a bite out of him (can you imagine the liability issue of bringing a tiger to ringside, with only a little barricade standing between the fans and the tiger? If you watch it, the tiger is struggling to get away when they first bring him out. Obviously the handlers are there, but still, if that tiger decided to go full-tiger, all bets are off). WATCH: Scott Steiner comes to the ring with a tiger Various WCW notes: Terry Taylor, Bill Banks and Ed Ferrara are apparently the main guys writing television this week. No explanation given about why it wasn't Russo but he wasn't involved this week (never would be again, he's done). Goldberg's book "I'm Next" comes out next week. E! Network will air a Women of WCW special. In a Pittsburgh poll, Mark Madden finished 3rd in a poll for which local radio personality you'd most want to punch. Hulk Hogan has been telling people that he wants to end his career in the WWF. WCW has changed the names of several of the 2001 PPVs. January's PPV will be called Sin (instead of Souled Out). February's PPV will be called SuperBrawl Revenge (instead of plain old SuperBrawl) and March's PPV will be called Greed (rather than Uncensored). And unbeknownst to anybody at the time, these will be the final WCW PPVs ever. Time Warner's stockholder report estimated $10-15 million in losses by WCW over the last 3 months, which is actually a good thing. They were expected to lose more than that, but all the cost-cutting in recent months helped stem the tide somewhat. The company was on pace to lose $80 million this year, but it looks like now it'll be a little less than that (though it's still expected to total well over $50 million). CNN ran a special on Goldberg last week. It talked about his parents divorcing 13 years ago, with Goldberg saying he's still angry about it. They also showed Vince Russo and Goldberg discussing an angle where Goldberg would attack Scott Steiner backstage and pour bleach down Steiner's throat. Dave notes that never actually happened, but here they are discussing it on the CNN special, so it was obviously a plan at some point that got scrapped. Russo also took a shot at Hogan during the show, saying it took Hogan 15 years to make a name for himself in wrestling while it only took Goldberg 3 months. Dave points out that Hogan started in late-1977, was a superstar in Japan in 1980, and by 1981, he was the biggest drawing star in the U. when working for the AWA. So, uh, the 15 years thing isn't exactly true. The last meeting fell apart after Martha Hart snapped and began yelling at Vince. Notes from Raw: Ivory debuted as the newest member of Right To Censor. The role was originally considered for Mona from WCW, but she'll apparently be doing something else. They showed Christian backstage laying in the remnants of a shattered table, implying that the Dudleys did it. This was a way to write Christian off the show after the stinger he suffered at the PPV. The ho's were also written off TV by a Chyna beat down and Dave says it's no coincidence that the pimp, the porn star, and the ho's are all gone from TV within the first month of moving to Viacom. Those were all central complaints of the PTC. Various WWF notes: Austin is scheduled to wrestle on most upcoming house shows, even in smaller markets, which is something of a surprise considering he just came back and it's unknown how well his neck will hold up. On the WWF's website, they stated there was nothing to the story of McMahon attempting to buy the Boston Red Sox, as the Boston Globe reported last week. A 14-year-old boy in Romulus, MI was charged with assault and battery after he attacked his mother because she wouldn't let him watch Sunday Night Heat. He pushed her, threatened to break windows in the apartment, and shattered a cinder block and began threatening her with it. The boy is awaiting trial on 2 previous assault charges also. Lots of letters about the potential WWF/WCW sale and how WCW is such a dead company at this point that some people don't even know why Vince would want it. Lots of doom and gloom predictions for WWF too, with people thinking it's getting stale, Rock is stagnating, Austin is yesterday's news, etc. Predictions that if Vince buys WCW, he'll eventually just shut it down rather than run it as a separate promotion, things like that. At first I scoffed and then took a trip to the bathroom, but when I got back, some interesting plot twists developed. The art style is unique and fluent throughout the movie, and the ability to connect with these characters is intense. I will not give any spoilers, for I think this is a movie you have to see for yourself. The short summary of this story is that it takes place in Tokyo, as three bums, not just any bums, bums that have either lost everything, or given up everything for their own beliefs, who find an abandoned baby, but don't want to leave it. They mutually, though reluctance can be sensed in two of them, decide to return the baby to its parents, where it will be safe.

This animated feature is indeed lovely to look at, capturing the stark beauty of its snowy urban landscape in finely drawn detail. The story, however, steeped in sentimentality and riddled with coincidence, plays like a third-rate Dickens melodrama, minus the richness of character and subtlety of wit the Master would have brought to the task. The three main characters aren't particularly interesting, and the story, such as it is, is tedious, unfocused and rambling. I guess there has to be a reason for a story to be done in animated form, but `Tokyo Godfathers' fails to provide us with that reason. The backgrounds are pretty, but the film itself is instantly forgettable.

I can defend one thing about subs: it encourages English-speaking viewers to re-watch the anime again. if they genuinely liked it. They can also go back to it if the dub sucked because. let's face it. Dubbed anime can suck, and judging by how many of the animes you've reviewed would have terrible voice acting, it's why people switch. I prefer subs unless the dub is actually good like Ghibli films. The actual reason why I is because I watched the English dub of Digimon as a kid, and realized how stupid some of the choices were once I switched to the sub. Seriously, the sub is ballsy compared to the dub. Thank goodness they won't do that with the new Tri movie series.

Just watched it, it was fine. There’s nothing to bash here. The film is whatever. If you are bored and wanna watch something, this will do for one time. The thing with this film is that the scenario and scenes are different but I felt like I have seen part of this film in parts of other films. A few years back when Bollywood switched towards these Indian middle class stories and gave it the name heartland stories, they were very refreshing. But now this genre has become boring and repetitive. Bala worked because the comedy was genuinely funny and made people laugh out loud. Where this, luka chuppi and dream girl failed to become very good films was that the comedy was there but it always felt expected and obvious. The story wasn’t surprising or exciting either, we knew what was coming and everything was just straightforward. The acting in this film is fine too. Karthik aryan plays what he was in luka Chuppi. But we need to stop bashing him so much for it if we aren’t gonna bash the others. Bhumi too is the same as she was in toilet, shubh mangal, and bala. Both of them do their job but there was nothing interesting fun or exciting about it. I saw pyaar ka punchnama when it came out and I love that film because it is really funny. And I love diveyandu and karthik from that. So I don’t think I’m gonna hate him like a lot of people in this sub do but I also understand that he is doing the same thing and it’s working for him but I wish I could see him test himself as well. Ananya was bland and boring. She doesn’t have many expressions and is really missing some screen presence. Part of that is her acting but also her poorly written character. Aparshakti also is what he’s been in other movies. The repetitiveness of this genre and these characters is what’s gonna kill it. These aren’t content driven films, they are just masala movies that are less cringe and simple. There’s nothing wrong with this movie, it’s just a plain old Bollywood movie that will leave you with nothing. And that’s also fine because sometimes you just wanna chill and watch a movie and this is exactly that. Take your Patni or your woh and it won’t be a waste of time but it’ll be better suited for home viewing on whatever digital platform it comes on.

This movie, literally, made me look like dumb as cattle. I wasn't even interested to watch it after seeing its cringy title. However, I went on forcing by my friend and it was sheer disappointment to waste the money on buying tickets. Movie has no plot, no sensible storyline. As a matter of fact, I didn't get any chance to watch its trailer. I would've avoided it otherwise. For one moment, it's comedy going on and immediately, it's sad and sorrow scenes the very next moment. This movie is only liked by the people who are dumb enough to love watching romantic movies after sending requests to random girls on Facebook. And people who went to watched it even after watching its trailer, hats off to them.
