As a former Military wife, I was schooled very fast on what my role was 20 years ago. A wife or any family member of a Soldier/Sailor is to stand up, stay strong, love them, write letters or cards (Snail Mail) or take control of a situation when they are deployed and at home. As a Military wife you are also a reflection of your Soldier/Sailor. If you are going to take care of business do it with PRIDE. If you are going to go party constantly, have affairs, dress like a total idiot you should not be a Military Spouse. Learn how to stay on top of all of the paperwork, medical records and awards that are presented. A true Military Spouse should know that when they come home from Deployment you NEED to be there to Welcome them HOME. Not ONE of OUR Military should come home to nothing. If you really love them, get off your ASS and meet that plane and welcome home other soldiers/sailors besides your own. While they are fighting for OUR FREEDOM, a REAL Military Spouse should be Thankful they came home safe. If a Soldier/Sailor comes home to no one. invite them to stay at your home to relax and have a home cooked meal and a real bed to sleep in. If you can't handle this and these tasks you shouldn't have agreed to marry into the Military. Jumping off the soap box now. THANK YOU FOR ALL OUR FREEDOM PAST AND PRESENT.

Military Wives is as formulaic as movies go, regardless the film is surprisingly good and it uses the formula really well. However it never aspires to be anything else preventing it from becoming a classic amongst the genre.
I haven't been familiar with the true story but from the start, you just know where it is all gonna go. It still works well but nothing is a surprise because of that. It still has some great moments and a fair amount of heart
It is seriously enjoyable and it is a likeable movie with a great cast. Kristen Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan are great here.
I'm sure there are many people who will like this film. I just can't see that much greatness in it. It's formulaic and does it's best to be a lovely and charming film but it does it in such a manipulative way, and I hate it when films do that. It is still worth watching though.

We recently started our own channel leading up to deployment as a way of documenting our journey. Anne Hathaway is shown for 8 seconds only. I have a feeling she has a massive supporting role here. Got married to a German woman she went back to Germany and never saw her again. lol Wtf.

I'm glad they've made it into a Hollywood movie because it will attract much more attention when it's made for entertainment instead of just information. Download movie military wives history.
